About the role
We’re seeking a full-time support worker who has the right values and attitudes to support our clients. We support young adults across the Romsey, Hampshire area, and our main ethos is to help our clients learn to live as independently as possible.
We have two small homes and have been successfully supporting young adults with learning disabilities and autism within our local community for many years. We support our clients 24/7 with respect and dignity in all their needs.
As a general guide, duties may include some support with personal care and medication prompts, as well as helping our clients take part in a wide range of interests and activities that support their health and well-being — arts and crafts, shopping trips, cooking, social events, cinema, bowling, general household tasks and more.
Benefits
- Full practical training with senior support workers
- Regular personal development reviews
- Opportunity for funded professional qualifications
- Supportive and friendly team atmosphere
Requirements
An NVQ or similar qualification in health and social care is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided — both in-house and a chance to gain professional qualifications. It’s important that you’re interested in people and dedicated to helping others, with an empathetic approach regardless of someone’s problems or disabilities. A DBS check is required (carried out as part of the recruitment process for successful candidates).
